United Electric's One Series Safety Transmitters
The One Series Safety Transmitter has won Control Engineering’s coveted 2015 Engineers’ Choice Award in the Process Safety category. This spotlight on innovation chooses the best automation, control and instrumentation products from 26 categories. Voting was conducted during the 4th quarter of 2014 and the winners were announced in Control Engineering’s February 2015 magazine.
This award is testament to the countless hours spent researching and developing the One Series Safety Transmitter to create a product that truly resonates with customers. The One Series Safety Transmitter is certified for use in SIL 2 safety systems, similar to competitive process transmitters that are currently available. In that sense, this product provides the customer with a very familiar device to implement their safety instrumented system – a transmitter. UE included a safety relay output (SRO) providing the ability to switch or control the final element (valve, compressor, blower, pump motor starter or other devices to alert workers of a critical condition) directly from the transmitter, providing the resonating feature that the Engineers’ Choice Award recognizes.
Additional discrete outputs that provide set point and health status facilitate redundant and diverse safety system designs which no other competitive transmitters offer. Customers found that having this flexibility allows them to achieve SIL certification in non-traditional ways that reduces design, acquisition, commissioning, and certification cost while increasing reliability without the need to deploy a costly logic solver. Regardless of a brownfield or greenfield project the ST provides more value than traditional transmitter. The One Series Safety Transmitter achieves the highest safe failure fraction (SFF) of any currently available SIL 2-certifiedtransmitter. At 98.8%, this very high SFF showcases UE’s extensive IAWTM UEisWorking on self-diagnostic capability used to provide maximum safety and reliability while reducing risk to the lowest possible level.
Many customers do not understand the significance of this and may need to be educated. Simply, SFF refers to the diagnostics that will uncover 98.8% of all the faults possible with the Safety Transmitter. It ensures that if the customer delays the annual proof test, our device will me more reliable than any other.
Thermon's CEMS/ Analyzer Umbilicals
Custom tubing bundles for CEMS (Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems) and heated "umbilicals" are available for analyzers applications.
The heart of any electrically heated tubing is the heater. Thermon manufactures the widest variety of“cut-to-length” heat tracing available today, providing sole-source responsibility for overall performance. Whatever the application — freeze protection, high temperature maintenance or sensitive analyzer lines in electrically classified hazardous areas, Thermon’s complete line of products provides superior heat tracing solutions.
The MassTracker™ Insertion Turbine Multi-Variable Flow Meter excels at measuring flow of difficult media such as steam, gas or liquids in wide-ranging line sizes. This versatile instrument combines measurement of mass or volumetric flow, density, temperature and pressure in just one instrument.
Thermon's Control and Monitoring
Controlling a heat tracing circuit can be as simple as a mechanical thermostat. Frequently, more sophisticated control and monitoring requirements are necessary. Whether it’s a mechanical thermostat or a microprocessor-based control and monitoring system, Thermon can handle the need.
We carry Thermon Heat Trace and Steam Trace for Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Nevada.

Weksler®
Over 160 years ago, Edward Ashcroft saw the need for safer, more sophisticated pressure and temperature instruments for use in the emerging steam industry. In response, he introduced a then-revolutionary new Bourdon tube pressure gauge. The rest is history...
Times continue to change and so do the needs of industry. Products manufactured by Ashcroft Inc. have become the benchmark in pressure and temperature measurement and include gauges, thermometers, switches, transducers, transmitters, instrument isolators and diaphragm seals and control and calibration equipment.
Specified around the world for the most demanding requirements, these instruments are widely recognized under the brand names Ashcroft,® Heise,® Willy,® and Weksler.® And you can find them in wastewater treatment facilities, biotech and pharmaceutical labs, medical applications, semiconductor facilities, refineries, power generation plants, food processing plants, pulp and paper mills, chemical manufacturing plants and the host of support companies that serve these industries.
Our team consists of experts ready to help resolve even the most difficult applications and technical issues. If you require broader specifications than our standard product line offers, our engineers, technical staff and product marketing specialists can work with you to custom fit the right product to the job. Our customer service representatives are highly trained to answer product application questions, offer competitive product cross-references and work closely with you to help meet your goals.
We maintain an extensive network of field and in-house sales personnel, local representatives and distributors to ensure you receive quick product delivery and service. Along with our "partner" representatives we offer product training and education, facility surveys, calibration services, seal assembly and answers to your application questions.
Safety is a critical issue, and our instrument audit can improve the safety or your plant. Industry surveys indicate that 20% to 30% of customers' instruments are misapplied and fail prematurely due to pulsation and vibration, allowing the process media or liquid fill to escape and cause environmental damage or even harm those nearby. Experts from Ashcroft Inc. can help identify areas of concern before they become problems. This important service will help prevent accidents, avoid misapplications and save money and time.
As the leader in technology and innovation we design new products based on current and emerging market requirements as well as individual customer's requirements. As the industry leader our "firsts" lead the way with breakthrough new product features and value added benefits for the customer.
